We are over a week past the election and Donald Trump has shown no signs he will concede defeat. Everyday he continues to push that he actually won the election big and the mass amount of voter fraud stole it from him. He has the most loyal members of his base convinced he will remain the President once the courts take care of all this.
I make an attempt to remain respectful at all times but I need to just say it how it is, this is a flat out pathetic move, it’s sad and it will ruin any legacy Trump may have left behind. Trump, if you truly in your heart believe you are the winner of this election and the fraud stole it from you, shut up and let the courts do their jobs.
However, I think deep down he knows he lost and he just can’t accept it. I truly do feel sorry for the man, his ego has been his greatest downfall. Years from now no one will remember his peace deals or the booming stock market, they will remember him as a sore loser who laughed in the face of a global pandemic.
It pains me to see him do this. In the midst of a global pandemic and a more divided nation than ever, instead of conceding peacefully and showing grace in defeat, he has ramped up the chaos in a time when we could really use some peace.
Also, isn’t it funny that the anti cancel culture anti snowflake crowd are now hell bent on taking down Fox News? Just thought I would throw that out there.
I think it is important to lay out how much of an uphill battle Trump is fighting here to get the election results overturned.
Here are the current margins in the states he needs to overturn in court to win the election:
Pennsylvania 57,000
Georgia 15,000
Arizona 11,000
Nevada 36,000
Wisconsin 20,000
And he needs to overturn multiple to have a chance. That means he needs to find hard core evidence of thousands of illegal votes in multiple states to overturn the results. Good luck.
Trump could win in court and overturn both Pennsylvania and Georgia and have those states called for him and still lose the election. His only hope is overturning all 3 of Pennsylvania, Georgia and Wisconsin OR overturning 2 out of 3 and also overturn Arizona.
Now, I don’t want to sit here and be too cocky, of course there is a small chance that there actually was mass voter fraud that stole the election from Trump, we all know how corrupt politics are. However, it is still extremely unlikely that there was enough of it and, more importantly, enough evidence of it to overturn the election results.
It is sad that a person that holds so much power in our country is acting like this and I hope we get a resolution soon so we can attempt to restore some peace to our nation.
