West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin Says No to 2k Stimulus Checks

Here we go.

I expect this to become a very common theme over the next couple years as Joe Manchin as gone against the Democrats in their support for 2k stimulus checks. This is why I don’t think the Democrats have true control of the Senate, because Joe Manchin votes with Republicans just as much as he votes with Democrats.

This is frustrating but not a surprise. Manchin is spineless and completely loyal to the big donors in his pockets as opposed to the American people who should be supporting. I think everyone on the left needs to be ready to rip this guy to shreds as he will undoubtedly be a thorn in the side of Democrats. Before he was able to hide in the shadows on congress but he will no longer be able to hide, all Democrats will be watching Manchin like a hawk.

I fear Manchin might oppose Democrat backed legislation even more now, as with his new power I bet many in the elite circles will be eager to buy him out to stop certain bills from passing. We cannot let the Democrats use this as an excuse however, we have let them get away with weak excuses for far too long. When they inevitably lose Manchin on a vote, they cannot just throw their hands up and say well we tried guys, they need to dig in, argue harder for their position and find another vote.

If the Democrats can’t get these 2k stimulus checks passed, they are done for. Biden and many others promised it would get passed if the Democrats won the 2 run off races in Georgia, so not getting this passed would be a terrible look. The Democrats have all the tools for success, they can’t be pushovers anymore, if things don’t get done in these next 4 years with all the power the Democrats have, the Republicans will come back and clean house.

As for the checks getting passed, I am still hopeful it happens as I am certain some Republicans will support it, but Manchin coming out and being the corrupt hack that he is makes it more annoying.

That is the phone number to Manchin’s office in DC, I am calling on everyone to call him and let him know not supporting 2k checks is unacceptable and political suicide. 80% of the country supports passing these checks, he is not doing the will of the people, make sure he knows it. Make sure he knows that if he does indeed vote no, he loses any chance of being reelected.
