This is the stuff I love to see. AOC went at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for breaking the Senate and going home for the holiday.
Millions of Americans are struggling to pay the bills, are struggling to put food on their table, have the threat of eviction looming over their heads, desperate for any kind of help from their Government, and that Government packed up and went home with no deal hammered out. It’s pathetic and unacceptable and it is necessary for us to have people like AOC in office, unafraid to stand up for the average person.
My absolute favorite part of AOC’s rant was bringing up how Republicans only ask where the money will come from when talking about relief for working class people, when talking about education and healthcare but never have any issue handing out trillions of dollars in relief to their buds on wall street (Democrats are not innocent here either). It’s frustrating, corrupt, and goes to show most of our elected leaders do not give a damn about us.
There is ZERO excuse why the American people only got 1 check written to them during a pandemic, which not even every American received. Every American without question should have been receiving a check in the mail once a month until we are out of this thing.
We should never accept the “Well how can we possibly afford to pay for this” excuse, it’s bullshit. The Government has countless times bailed out big cooperations and wall street with zero issue, they have proven to us they have the means and the funds. Those funds should be going to monthly checks, small business relief, providing healthcare as a human right and forgiving student loan debt.
Mitch McConnell and the rest of the establishment politicians have blood on their hands and should be ashamed of themselves, but I know they don’t care. They all have it made, good job security and endless fund pouring in from their cooperate donors, they truly do not care what happens to the average American.
I applaud AOC for standing up for what’s right, I can only hope more people follow behind her.
